About pink noise

Pink noise is a type of noise signal and a naturally occurring acoustical phenomenon. The sounds of ocean waves, heartbeats, rain, and traffic all contain pink noise.

It is commonly used in audio engineering and acoustics for analyzing room acoustics and equalizing sound systems. It also has applications in sleep therapy and relaxation techniques.

Where white noise is all frequencies at equal power, in pink noise, power is inversely proportional to frequency, so it sounds more natural and soothing to the human ear.
