Allison Loggins-Hull

Composer, Flutist, Producer

“…smart instrumental writing, including some ferocious yet melodically supple passages in rhythmic unison.”
The New York Times

Allison Loggins-Hull is a flutist, composer, and producer whose work defies classification. She has been associated with acts across the spectrum of music including Flutronix, LA Phil, Lizzo, Imani Winds, Alicia Hall Moran and Jason Moran. Her music is often resonant with social and political themes of the current moment, encompassing motherhood, Blackness, and cultural identity.

This fall, she began a three-year tenure as the Lewis Composer Fellow with the Cleveland Orchestra, which will premiere an orchestral version of Can You See? in May 2023. Her season also includes premieres of new works for yMusic at Carnegie Hall; a song cycle with Toshi Reagon for Alarm Will Sound; a new work for Ensemble Cygnus; and with ETHEL, the world premiere of Persist at the Brooklyn Public Library with Loggins-Hull as flute soloist.
